Awkwafina

Awkwafina has been described as an American actor and musician who made her name with innovative raps which addressed the issues of sexuality and race with a the most comical of perspectives. Her career then grew into Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her first music experience. She was a trumpet player. Alongside classical music and jazz, the young Nora began studying hip-hop in her teens. In her studies, she studied journalism as well as women's studies, and was taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. After graduating, she began to pursue music as her main focus. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included in her debut album Yellow Ranger. It also included other viral hits like the body-positive Queef and winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$1. The latter track was connected to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. She decided to pursue acting as a profession following the completion of her previous two ventures as a musician and author. Apart from early series such as Girl Code and Tawk she was also in films like Neighbors 2. Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed several notable performances, which included Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she debuted her EP "In Fina We Trust".
